I received some DISTURBING news this morning in regards to someone inquiring about the cook off on Friday so; with that said please realize the following; FIRST AND FOR MOST THIS IS A BENEFIT put on to help our emergency services, NOT a pro cook off. It is meant to be a fun event that’s end result is to raise as MUCH money for them as possible. RV spaces are limited; this is something that CAN NOT be helped. Spaces with water and electric are limited again, not something that can be helped. Please be understanding about this!!!!! Lastly, I am not a babysitter. I have made it very clear via Facebook posts where entry forms may be retrieved, when they are due, when RV and tent sites were filling up, etc… (Entry forms are available at the Fort Davis Chamber of Commerce site, there are NO MORE RV or TENT sites, there are PLENTY of cook off sites left but, they do not have water or electric at the site. If you are set up at one of the cook off sites that do not have water or electric, you still have access to both but, will have to haul the water and walk over to the electric outlet. This is how it was last year and nobody complained and everyone survived!!) Jeff Davis County Abstract and the Fort Davis Water Department are NOT cook of headquarters, they have simply been kind enough to help out... DO NOT go into either place YELLING or DEMANDING anything. These are places of business! This is a very unfortunate situation and hope that this will not happen again. This is an ALL VOLUNTEER event and we do our best to appease everyone but, this is obviously not possible. Please be mindful in the future about how you proceed with inquiries.
