I received this email today from the organization that is training teachers to transform the lives of not only the teachers, but the many thousands of students and schools that will benefit from having these teachers trained. I hope you will read it and be inspired to sponsor a young man or woman who is choosing to change their life in a most profound way. I sponsored one of these teachers, a total cost of $300, paid over 3 months, which sustains them FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!! I love participating in programs like this where my dollars have such a strong impact!! Dear Ray! We are excited to share some incredible results with you regarding your Sponsored Teacher and the entire program! First, we like to share the overall Vision Statement for the program: We are an empowered, connected, collaborative teaching community, and we are helping transform our schools from threadbare to self-sustaining. Secondly, as promised, this is your first official update from your teacher. On April 26 (which was Training #3!) the teachers got to watch a DVD called, The Success Principles by Jack Canfield in which he teaches nine of the sixty-four success principles in his New York Times Best Selling book of the same title. We had group discussion about the principles; then they were taught how to create and write out a Personal Mission Statement for themselves. They were then asked to write down THREE things they learned from the DVD, and what they would dare to dream if they knew they could not fail, and finally, their Mission Statement. See the attached for your Teachers answers! You may have a teacher who absolutely GOT IT and responded well and profoundly (we had many who did!) or you may have a teacher who is struggling to get it or who is struggling to express it. We are finding that most teachers are GETTING this (ALL are loving the program and what they are being exposed to), but their ability to express themselves needs a lot more work. The BEST news I can share with you is that we are noticing a HUGE difference in ALL of the teachers who have remained in the program. We started with 146. We have a core 110 who have remained committed! To remain in the program they must show up ON TIME and they are! Amazing and surprising results considering the nature of life in Liberia (Liberia Time is a common phrase! And even government functions dont start on time. We are changing that!) When teachers speak in front of the class, they are now louder, clearer, more animated. Eye contact while speaking one on one is also improved with ALL teachers. Teachers are already becoming connected with each other and have accountability partners. Teachers are becoming more collaborative in and outside the program by sharing ideas and taking them into their schools. Individual successes are higher than expected - teachers are taking more risks in dreaming for what they want and taking unprecedented actions! Teachers constantly are reporting the SHIFT they see in their classrooms with students being better behaved, paying more attention. Teachers are seeing better relationships occurring with fellow teachers and school principals! Teachers are using the skills they are learning at home as well as school, and finding new ways of coping with stress and responding to challenges! We even have teachers who have started side businesses to help sustain themselves as a direct result of this program! These teachers got VIP Front Row seating as part of a TWO Day Training and Workshop May 22-23 for over 400 teachers, organized by SpryteLorianoGlobal, taught by 24 Transformational Trainers from SEVEN Countries!!! All we can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the huge difference you are making. Real stories. Real success. Real teachers. Lives are changing. WHATS NEXT? Teachers love what they are learning and want to teach it to others! We are in the development of an Empowerment Radio Program that will be hosted by our Teachers, to teach these Leadership and Success skills to other teachers throughout Liberia, and to the general public! Teachers are collaborating with Spryte Loriano and Kimmie Weeks in the development of SchoolUP Liberia which will transform the 40 schools represented in this program urban from threadbare to self-sustaining! We will keep you updated! We are still seeking sponsorship for 26 TEACHERS of this 110. Will you please consider helping us get them sponsored?
