I received this from General Shaukat Qadir. He also makes the following statement, There are many like him who do not hesitate to tell the truth. More among Israelis than among us, regretfully. (referring to his brother Pakistanis and Muslims, I believe) Back in 1979, my Contemporary European History professor, Cistercian monk and priest Father Louis Lekai commented, If they wanted to make reparation for the Holocaust, why put them in the middle of a land of people who hate them, why not put them in Arizona? That flip comment had a serious meaning, Christians, Jews, and Muslims all have claims to the Holy Land. But reality is reality. Israel has been established for 66 years, and I do not know that anyone, but the greatest fanatic, wants to undo that fact, anymore than the Cherokee or the Kiowa want to undo the United States of America. Yet, we have to confront reality and work to make it conform to justice. The military tactics and the civil administration of borders by the Israeli government is, by any measure of morality, save the utilitarian, evil, pure and simple. Christians and Muslims, Arabs and many who are Jews, but not emigrees from Europe, are shabbily treated by the Israeli government. The State of Israel will eventually lose its moral strength, as it already has in most corners of the world save the United States, unless it reverses course on the wicked military methods and degrading and violent treatment of Arabs and others who also have a legitimate claim to call that land home.
