Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide! So, many of you know that I rescued a 24 year old Quarter Horse from Sunnyside Feedlot in Eastern Washington back at the beginning of December. I had all the funds needed to bail him, have him hauled to quarantine and pay for quarantine as well as have him hauled to me here in Florida and get his feet taken care of and any needed vet care he may need in addition to a Coggins and Health Certificate. What many of you dont know is I was the victim of a horse hauling scam. I was scammed out of $700 (my deposit for hauling). Once the money was received by this company, they havent been heard from despite numerous emails, phone calls to phones that have been disconnected, Facebook messages and any other way I could think of to contact them. I have paid for Coggins, Health Cert, floating of his teeth, farrier care, his bail, hauling to quarantine and his care while in quarantine. Ive also found a different hauling company (Wilfong Equine Services out of Oregon) and have paid $1300 of the $1700 to have him hauled from his quarantine location in Stanwood leaving on January 24. Im asking for people to donate anything they can to help me meet the $400 I need to pay when hes picked up. I have no extra resources to draw on and my credit card is maxed out now. Some of you already know that I was victim of a horse hauling scam by Ashlynn Gainer AKA Elite Equine Express, Blue Ridge Equine Transportation and too many other aliases to list and whoever they are affiliated with. There have been many other people that have been scammed in this exact way. Im out $700 with no recourse as I didnt pay by credit card, but by a bank transfer so there is nothing my bank can do. Ive filed a report with the local Sheriffs office here, but likely nothing they can do. Also filed a report with the FBIs internet fraud division and with the local police department in TN where I believe these people are located. Again, likely nothing they can do. Ive never been one to ask for help and I rescued Frasier (Waterford) from SS feedlot fully understanding it would cost me $600 in bail money, $1700 in transport to Florida plus Coggins, health certificate and any other needed vet expenses. I knew going into this there may be additional expenses and vowed I would not rescue if not able to pay them all on my own. I was not expecting to be scammed out of $700. Ive thought about not asking for help as Id rather people help a horse in need, but I need to try to get help paying for the remaining money for hauling. Ive found another company to haul and they have references and are a legit company. Ive paid $1300 to them and Frasier will be leaving his QT from Dana in Washington on January 24. I need help with the remaining $400 I need to pay when he arrives here at the end of January. Anything anyone can donate is a huge help. Im so sorry that despite making sure fraudulent company had a DOT number and seemed legit that Ive found myself asking for help. I ask that I not be tagged in any posts about this as my mom has no idea what Ive paid out of pocket to date (Im 32 years old and still afraid of mom) I especially dont want her to know Ive been a victim of a scam.
