I received this recently and have agreed to pass this ladys info on to any that may be interested in helping, please message me if youd like the e-mail address - I’m currently working with your old school, Isle of Sheppey Academy (formerly Cheyne Middle School and Minster College), on behalf of the education charity Future First. We help state schools build alumni communities of former students that can advise and inspire current students. This happens at events like assemblies and workshops which give students the opportunity to hear about alumni experiences at school, what they’ve being doing since leaving and what they’re up to now. We want to showcase all the different types of successes students can go on to have. Very simply: if former students can do it, so can they. We currently have the following workshop planned at your old school: Wednesday 2nd April, Time: 11h00- 12h00 The purpose of these sessions will be to raise the confidence and motivation levels of students, encouraging them to work harder. This is achieved by showing them the success that alumni have had in their chosen careers/ further education pathways. Please do let me know if you think you’d like to come along. You wouldn’t have to prep a thing and it’ll be structured as an informal Q&A panel show, hosted by Future First, so no need to worry about making a speech or presentation.
