I recently came across, A person in his early 50s who had found himself homeless due to unemployment. He had been living in public toilets in Clitheroe. He mentioned that this had been his home for the past 5 weeks, He did not qualify for benefits as he had no fixed address. I and many others gave him money so he could have something to eat and two very kind people, One being his ex boss of 30 years ago,Have provided a warm bed for him by literally taking him of the streets. I had a good chat to him recently, I dont think I have come across a Human being so grateful for the kindness he had been given from organisations like the Clitheroe food Bank . Christians against poverty. and St James Church . He is not a social security scrounger and has had full time employment for the past 38 years. The lad just wants to work and start a new life in his home town of clitheroe. What I do find somewhat sad, Is he was informed by someone, That if he was to make his way to Dover and play dumb, Then the Authorities would put him up in a Hotel. Is it not time this country started to look after the many innocent people like him that are literally homeless regardless of the amount of national insurance they have paid over the years.
