I recently got this in an email from the Utah County Republican Party. I wonder who they are talking about? Smear Campaign against One of Our Nominees The Utah County Republican Party leadership feels that winning is not as important as how you win. Candidates who cut ethical corners and smear their opponents with untrue claims have no place representing the public. Legitimate policy differences are one thing, but fabricating false claims is entirely another. Unfortunately, smear tactics have been used against Greg Graves, our nominee for County Commissioner Seat A. Recently, false statements were published and advertised in an attempt to undermine Greg. Party leadership would like to set the record straight on one key point: Greg has never been convicted of a crime and he does not have a criminal record. Furthermore, Utah Republican Party e-mail lists are the property of the party and are NOT to be used for any unauthorized purpose. Recently, a Party e-mail list was acquired by a non-Republican-nominated candidate for office and used without party leadership’s permission or knowledge. We immediately contacted the candidate that did this and directed his campaign to cease using Party property without consent.
