I recently quit my churchs worship team. Although this wasnt the only reason (there were plenty of other reasons), I feel I got burned out playing the same old boring music every Sunday. P&W music shuns creativity and quality musicianship and I felt my talents werent being honed and my skill level decreasing. Since quitting I have joined a country group in which I play guitar. I get the challenge I need, I am able to play with incredible musicians and I have fun while doing it. We vary our songs and style and actually permit showing-off. Anyone else break away from P&W music lately or want to? I dont feel guilty at all. By the way, I still attend church.
