I recently received this email message from Jillian Smith, editor of the Duxbury Clipper: Hello Will, Thank you for sending this along. We will not be printing this column in this weeks paper, as it includes information that is presented as fact but is not backed up with evidence or sources. In several instances throughout your submission, there are statements (see The DCF investigation was nothing of the sort.) you refer to documentary evidence, but do not provide the evidence to back the statement up. I am happy to take a second look if you could provide me sources or evidence. In addition, it also includes information that could be considered libelous (defined as an untruth about another which will do harm to that person or his/her reputation by tending to bring the target to ridicule, hatred, scorn or contempt of others). For example, the paragraph Talbots greasy grimy fingerprints are all over what followed. He wrote up his distorted biased, false and defamatory version of the story and represented it as fact. This is clear both in his purported internal report and in the equally distorted 51A report be belatedly filed on September 3 or 4... As a side note, in the future, please contact only me if you have any questions or concerns with your column. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Josh and David do not determine what content is printed in the paper each week, and as such are not the people to contact in the event you have a question or concern with your column. My other concern stems from the fact that this exact submission appears on your website today and has already been circulated online. I would greatly appreciate an original submission to future issues of the Clipper. If you do have concerns, I am happy to sit down with you to discuss them. Best, Gillian
