I recently sent a playlist of my favorite sermon series to some brothers and sisters in Christ, so I decided to re-watch them as well. I also decided that as I re-watch them I will take out some quotes and post them on here for everyone to enjoy! To start his sermon he asked a series of questions as to why the audience has come to hear him: I want to ask you a question. Why did you come here today? What are you looking for? Do you just want to be entertained? Do you want to see a show? Or do you want to grow in truth? Do you want to hear something that will make you excited for a day or two? Or do you want to learn the Scriptures so you can grow your entire life? Why are you here? Do you want to learn something new to make your life better? Did you come here to learn some key from the Scriptures which will help you prosper in life? If that is why you have come, you have come to the wrong place and you are listening to the wrong preacher. I dont care about material prosperity. I dont care about nice cars. I dont care about houses or clothing. I dont want to have an easy life. I want to know Christ. I want to be conformed to His image. I want to be a useful servant. As far as I am concerned you can take all the material blessings of this world and throw it in a garbage can. Because that is what it is to me compared to the person of Jesus Christ. The true treasure is Jesus Himself! The true treasure is a relationship with God! The true treasure is not what I wear, but what I am on the inside. Being conformed to Christ. To be righteous.
