I recently switched to a Smart Meter. I was reluctant at first - TopicsExpress

I recently switched to a Smart Meter. I was reluctant at first but feel MLGW has invested in our community with this new meter and trust all will be worth it. However, after switching, I was told technicians will still have to come out and read the meter until at least October of this year. Thats almost another year. So Im wondering why this is so. I hope the new meter is not basing usage on any estimates. Please verify. Second, that means I still have to watch for a technician to let him enter my property. The Smart Meter consumer letter said this would no longer be necessary once installed, and did not indicate that technicians would still need to come. My questions are: When was MLGW going to let consumers know about this and two, isnt there a standard rate for each unit of usage? If so, can you tell us what that rate is for light, gas and electricity? Thank you!
