I recently took possession of a piece of furniture that belonged to my grandmother. I have cleaned it with Murphys Oil Soap, cleaned it up, changed the knobs that were broken, shined its mirrors and I am so in awe of the feeling that a piece of furniture can transmit. When I touch it, a flood of memories come forth from the recesses of my mind, I can smell her smell, feel her presence, feel her love and I am transported back in time when I was a little girl with all the happy memories that she gave me. I remember the day like it was yesterday when she opened the top drawer and pulled out a pink long sleeve, long nightgown that she gave me years ago(which I still have) and I cannot help but smile. My grandmother lives on in dreams, in memories, in wood, in my very essence of who I am. I love you MoMo.
