I recently went to the fire department in search of employment. So I asked an on-duty fireman if they were hiring, and he said yes. So he gave me instructions on how to apply for the position. Afterwards, I asked him if they would hire me even if I was a convicted felon, and he said No. They wont deal with you. So I said are you telling me that just because I made a mistake in the past, you will prevent me from saving a persons life? He never responded; and the truth is that the government cares more about keeping young black men confined to the perpetual cycles of genocide that pervade our communities than saving a life. They are all about the unjust way of capitalism.
