I recieved a very kind letter from someone who works in the office, and am resharing it here with permission. We really can make a change! The hospital is watching for the impact on the community, so lets keep sharing this group and gathering support! ******* Hi Heather. I just wanted to reach out to you, as I have just seen the page you created supporting our midwives. I am both humbled and proud to be a part of an office that has such an amazing patient base. The news of the dissolving of our midwife practice was as devastating and heartbreaking to us as it was to our patients. You were correct in stating it was purely a financial matter and the health systems strategic planning for the future. Im not sure what effect you and all of these awesome group members will have on the situation, but as an insider witnessing it... its a really beautiful thing. People, patients, taking a stand to keep the people they trust with their health, and the health of what is most precious to them... their babies. I hope your voices are heard loud and clear, and if at very very least.... Deb and Allison will know that they have already made a profound difference to the people in this community.
