I recommended the flu shot for health care workers until I read what the makers of the flu vaccine wrote in print so fine,you need a magnifying glass to read it. If you do read it,and doctors dont,it tells you THE VACCINE DOES NOT PREVENT YOU FROM GETTING THE FLU. Nurses tend to have more common sense than Drs because common sense is indoctrinated out of us during medical school. Teaching hospitals such as this one are heavily dependent on drug company funding: Schildmeier said that while nurses accept requirements to be vaccinated against polio, measles, and other infectious diseases, some regard the flu vaccine differently. Shots must be taken every year, reformulated each time to protect against the flu strains expected to circulate. Schildmeier asserted that the shot is ineffective 5o to 60 percent of the time and that nurses can protect patients through infection control measures.
