I refrained from posting anything serious yesterday because sentiments were at their peak and from what I saw, majority posts lacked rationality and sense. What happened yesterday will remain one of the most unfortunate incidents in the history of Pakistan. But lets start with people calling this their democratic right to protest peacefully. Agreed. It IS your democratic right to protest, to contest, to make the Government agree to your demands. But under what constitution is it your democratic right to topple off the Government with a 40-60K (max) sit-in? , to challenge the state? and to become so stubborn that you refuse to leave remaining completely oblivious that how much u have made this country lose? For the LOVE OF GOD dont argue by saying that IK made numerous legislative attempts before going for dharna.. Let me remind you that those attempts were for electoral reforms, which I believe have already been agreed upon by the Government. Those saying that IK and TUQ lead from front and they base their stance by posting a picture of IK standing on his container and saying that their were snipers ready to shoot him, let me invalidate your stance by saying a) Leading from the front means that you are ahead of your followers, if you compare yourself with Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) then atleast have the courtesy to stand where your followers are standing. b) If the Government really wanted to kill IK/TUQ they had numerous other clear shot opportunities. Even for the slight time that IK came out of his container, they could have shoot him if there were snipers for real... so please be realistic and dont substantiate your stance on some mere rumor. I feel bad for the followers of IK and TUQ that they had to go through this. Nothing is as precious as human lives. And for some people who think that these people rightly deserve this brutality then in my opinion you people are one of the most sick minded creatures that I have ever seen. These people dont deserve this. These people deserve their leader to become rational. Leaders who themselves pushed this fiasco to an extent that this incident occurred. Who wanted to to instigate this to an extent that the government is further pressurized to quit and go home. May all the injured have speedy recovery. I can quote thousands of examples that even in many developed countries the Government has resorted to resistance to show its power and to make sure that no more trouble is caused. Saying this doesnt excuse the Nawaz Government from what they did.. But what I actually mean to say is that this happening was very obvious..It should have been seen by IK and TUQ. They should have stopped at a point..But i guess our leader (EVERYONE) put their ego infront of National Crises. Now, I see that expired tear gas, direct firing and real bullets were also used. EVERYONE Involved in this should be brought in the court and a proper trail should be initiated against such inhumane people. The only purpose of government resistance should have been to disperse the crowd, any other hidden objective can NEVER be accepted. ( for reference of government resistance against revolts en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_revolutions_and_rebellions) Those who are asking for Martial Law amaze me the most. Let me assure you that if we were under a Martial Law there wouldnt have been any rubber bullets or tear gas. Let me assure you that there wouldnt have been 200+ injuries. There would have been real bullets, real on ground war and thousands of casualties. So before you support Martial law with your cute mind and extra-ordinary ability to bounce, just dwell upon the fact that how many lives have been lost under dictatorial regimes, how many attacks have been made at media and how many news have been suppressed and halted from coming into limelight. Having said that, I believe that the Army maintained its integrity by not interfering in this matter (yesterday) and I respect them for that, like I always have. One thing which I can deduce from IK, TUQ and NS meetings with army chief is that all parties were taken in the loop that there will be resistance if the people exceed their limits ( my deduction can obviously be wrong) Attack on media personnel is also saddening. Those poor cameramen and journalist dont deserve this. They should have been protected and respected. ISPs order to stop media from covering the event deprives us of our right to know. Nawaz Government should be held accountable for this act. They have always disliked criticism, they have always showed immaturity towards criticism by trying to block it completely but now its time to answer.. everyone responsible to raise hands on those poor people should be held accountable. Having said that, there ARE black sheeps in our media aswell. These people should also be identified and strict action should be taken against them because these are the one dividing this nation into sects, not religious sects but sects of political leaders.. arent we divided already?. I have always disliked Mubashir Lucqman for obvious reasons, and those who support him on the base that hes a true and brave media person are the ones who will vote for PPP and PML-N in the next election despite knowing the fact that what they have done. Lastly, I can just pray that this country gets what it truly deserves. Democracy, only real democracy can be the solution. But let democracy grow... Let people try and test their leaders and give their next vote on previous experience. Our political leaders should now amicably resolve this matter without taking it any far. May Allah protect this country and this nation. p.s. Any criticism to my statements is much appreciated. Convince me over your stance with logic and factual statements and I will agree with you. Keep the hatred aside and think for a while.
