I regard a good nights sleep as an annoying and inconvenient waste - TopicsExpress

I regard a good nights sleep as an annoying and inconvenient waste of potentially productive time. A nap, on the other hand, is a delightful mini-vacation. I sometimes nap at red lights. Since I was about ten years old, Ive always slept with the radio on -- not to help me to fall asleep, but to inform and entertain me during awake times. When I was auditioning potential wives back in 1971, one of the requirements was the willingness to sleep with Long John Nebel as well as with me. It wasnt a physical three-way: Long John was a radio talker. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_John_Nebel Marilyn was willing. Long John died in 1978. Now Marilyn sleeps with me, Hunter, and a variety of people on satellite radio. Early this morning I awoke for a pee break, but NPR was so interesting that I sat on the edge so captivated that I nearly peed in my pants. I heard a segment I had missed yesterday of one my my favorite radio shows, On the Media, about how DNA analysis can unite separated relatives, for better or worse, and reveal surprising genetic heritage. Are you part Norwegian, part Neanderthal? onthemedia.org/story/on-the-media-2013-10-18/?utm_source=local&utm_media=treatment&utm_campaign=daMost&utm_content=damostviewed I heard Terry Gross interview Graham Nash, plugging his new memoir: npr.org/2013/10/15/234683906/graham-nash-has-wild-tales-to-spare Terry also kept me painfully retaining fluid while interviewing Billy Crystal about his new memoir: npr.org/2013/10/19/236361362/fresh-air-weekend-billy-crystal-and-graham-nash When Terrys show ended I did seek relief and quickly returned to bed. This time I learned about super-speed stock trading. A microsecond can make a difference: radiolab.org/story/267195-million-dollar-microsecond/
