I released our birds Sunday at the funeral of Prem Narayan, loving matriarch of her immediate family and her many cousins. She was widowed at an early age and raised her four children by herself. She was a successful businesswoman and worked very hard up until when she fell ill in December of 2005. To know Prem was to love her and to understand what was special to her. Her greatest loves were her family and friends, her Christian faith, her garden, the colors pink & purple, cooking, her sense of style, and her sense of community. Prem was actively involved in volunteering, and for many years was a dedicated member of Calvary Temple Church. She was a strong Christian and active within her church. Prem was a precious mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Prem’s benevolent spirit, sympathetic nature, and Christ-like life touched many lives. Her generosity and loving spirit knew no bounds and her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Prem Narayan is survived by her four children; Ben Narayan, Judy Chowdhury, Tom Narayan, and Michelle Arya, their spouses, her 7 grandchildren, her 2 brothers, her 7 sisters, numerous loving cousins, and extended family and friends.
