I reliably heard from a friend yesterday that USA has stopped the procurement of our crude oil. Hmmmmm, this is a terrible situation for Nigeria especially at a time when we need every resources at our disposal to crush the security challenges bedevilling the country. I have said it before and Ill say it again that the day US decides to stop the importation of oil from any of the major petroleum exporting countries amongst the OPEC community, the concomitant effect will be a devastating fall in the price of petroleum products including Crude oil. This will affect every OPEC Nation negatively, especially Nigeria who has failed to embrace the reality of building at least six more refineries and put the four existing refineries to uptimal use. I listed many benefits of this notion. I thought those concerned would borrow a new leaf and act on it - all these were to no avail. However, it is not too late to act now if we are serious with the future of Nigeria. I have so many posts on the way forward on petroleum pricing @ N40/litre in Nigeria; job creation; building of six more refineries; etc in 2012. Our failed political leaders must be compelled to loose 60% of their gratuity for their ineptitudes. We cant continue to misrule and expect good governance. God bless Nigeria.
