I remember a couple of years back at NUL, myself and a couple of my friends being sidelined by the Christian community because we did not conform to certain stereotypes which would have us labelled Christian by the same community. Young and radical we stood, unashamed of Jesus, but unapologetic. Refusing to wear these masks. This would have me as one of the most unpopular Christians on campus, defamed and not allowed to minister at some platforms. Today I am looking at us (my friends and I) - we are serving the Lord in ministry, radically and unapologetic still. Those who pushed us away and wore the more Christian clothes? Honestly speaking, Im still looking for them and praying for them. Thats why I am not apologetic about leading a church of certain so-called misfits, because I have seen how certain stereotypes can have it so twisted. Conformity to certain religious rituals that have no biblical roots has made many think they are walking the walk, but they have greatly missed the message. I admit, I had my fair share of mistakes, but I thank God for my overseer at the time at Ground Shakers, Mr. Mbele Horoto, who had faith in me and had me stand. Today, I know how it is to embrace someone who has been sidelined by the Christian community and say, God has a plan for your life... Be real and walk with God We can never live up to peoples standards and expectations, thats why the bible says, Do your best TO PRESENT YOURSELF TO GOD AS ONE APPROVED, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. not to people. Today I encourage you, you may feel you have wronged the Christian community so much that you are no longer accepted and you choose to stand away, but no, I invite you... Lets walk! People may disregard you, but it is God who qualifies you. Lets walk!! #ThisLove
