I remember a long long time ago, in a teachers lounge far far away - I was complaining. Specifically, I was complaining about getting up on Saturdays at 6am with small children, and some wise ol girl said to me, Holli, pretty soon, your kids are gonna be able to pour their own cereal. And Im pretty sure I got a faraway look in my eye as if to stare into some seemingly unrealistic mythical future Saturday morning. And, no. This is not one of those oh my babies are growing up so fast oh just slow down time type sentiments... Oh, no. I am here to say that this morning, when I woke up startled to 2 sets of eyes just creepily staring about 3 inches from my face - I seriously heard myself say, Collier, open up 2 cereal bars and find cartoons. Truly, a revolutionary moment. And I know people talk about Disneyland being the happiest place on earth... But today, for 45 minutes, the wise ol girl was correct. And my children were completely unsupervised. And I was sleeping and dreaming of all the future extra hours of sleep I am gonna get on account of how terribly familiar my children are with the remote and pantry... And all was right with the world. God bless the words of wise ol girls.
