I remember a question once put to me and my fellow students many, - TopicsExpress

I remember a question once put to me and my fellow students many, many years ago....and it was this: Discuss the difference between nationalism and patriotism and after much deliberation and debate we arrived at the conclusion that in our opinion they are one and the same because, in the truest sense, they both mean the love of ones own country or nation and its people above all others. I write this because I cant understand why some people in the No campaign liken themselves to patriots?...... their country is Scotland!!.... why would they condemn it and the Scottish people to the will of a Westminster government who will undoubtably strip away the power of the Holyrood Parliament. Such patriotism deserves to be recognised for what it is......a means of tying us to a government that does not have Scotlands best interest at heart.......and that includes them!! There will be no pieces of silver for their betrayal of Scotland.......just more of the same cruel Westminster policies and reforms that have brought the people of the UK ........Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales to the abyss of poverty and all that it entails!!!
