I remember applying at Foxwoods for a job in Security in the last week of February, 1993. I drove the 62 miles from East Haven and was told that the company just hired 40 new Security Guards. I left my resume with the employment office and went home. 2 days later, I got a call from a Marlene asking me if I could come in the next morning for an interview. My police background caught their eye. The next morning I was hired on the spot and told to report Monday March 1, 1993. They gave me my choice of shifts. I said I like 4:00 to 12:00. They said, 4:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Thank you but could I give my present employer a 2 week notice? Do you want this job? Yes sir, I do. Then, see you Monday at 4:30 PM sharp. Yes sir. Thank you. Uniforms, free meals, benefits, gifts, appreciation, Ocean Beach company picnic, Christmas party. Year end bonuses. All that is gone but my memories of working with the best people I have ever known will be with me forever.
