I remember as a little boy growing up in the 1960s with a Spanish speaking service at Grandview Presbyterian Church with many Cuban refugee families, (including Luis who served our church so faithfully for so many years as our custodian). It was a few members of that fellowship that invited me to Tijuana for the first time twenty years later. We ate huevos rancheros downtown, visited the dump, where I drank my first glass of water I wasnt supposed to drink. How can you turn down a gift from those who have so little? God has continued to use trips to Mexico with Amor Ministries and relationships with neighbors in our community to humble me and teach me so much about Welcoming the Stranger and hospitality. Now I can use my voice and my story to encourage us to think differently about immigration reform. #evangelicalimmigrationtable #pray4reform
