I remember as newlyweds my husband woke me up to pray. So as we were praying, I noticed his breath was overtaking the prayer. I mean, I could not concentrate and I kept trying to turn my head away from the smell but the more I turned, the more his morning breath slapped me every which way. I was getting beat up in prayer and didnt know how to defend myself. When it was my turn to pray, I tried to use the energy I obtained failing to defend myself against his breath, and pray the funk away. But I noticed my husband kept moving more than normal. I thought maybe my prayer was too strong so I went ahead and ended the prayer. In the end, we said our Amens and quickly escaped to different bathrooms. Later that day, I confessed to my husband that his breath had been detrimental to my ability to obtain spiritual matters during our morning prayer. He then confessed that my breath was like the Empire Strikes Back where it kept cinching his nose hairs and causing him to retreat within his spirit. So we both laughed and said from now on before we pray in the morning, we must get unfunky fresh so we dont become hazards to our own health in prayer. Point? Couples please learn from our costly mistake. Never pray together in the morning unless you brusha brush first or at the very least, pray back-to-back. And if you pray back-to-back, only pray quietly because bad breath travels fast and can cause separation in prayer. Stay on one accord even in this. As much as I loath bad smells, I should have known better not to open my mouth before brushing knowing that inside growth of inhumane smells had taken place in my mouth overnight. So marriage tip for today, for morning prayer, BRUSH FIRST THEN PRAY. Its the only way to go yall! We learned the hard way, but you dont have to. #MarritalHygeine101 #DontHinderEachOthersPrayerWithSkunkBreath #BrushFirstThenPray #SaveYourMarriageToday
