I remember in the army, they made us learn how to take apart every thing and put it back together again .. Our clothes/uniform, our beds, our stow lockers and even the language used to communicate in the military.. They made us disassemble and reassemble every rifle or gun issued, over and over again for days even the whole week, before ever taking us out to learn to shoot it.. Taking things apart always includes cleaning all and greasing mechanical parts.. These days i work only on home/yard equipment and my generators.. I use the clean and lube insights when i have the means and it goes a long way to keeping long term utility in machines.. Little things like greasing lug nuts when changing tires, changing oil like its a cancer treatment for survival, and wiping down crud build up that holds moisture which makes corrosion....
