I remember listening to Hell-O in high school. The band I was in when I was 16 covered Time For Death. The Day Scumdogs of The Universe came out I was waiting at the record store. Any opportunity I got, I went to see GWAR. Needless to say, growing up, I was a super fan. They were always so much fun, and as I got older, I realized and appreciated their subversive humor even more! Fast forward a bunch of years. I was working behind the bar at Ottobar and I hear an unmistakeable voice behind me. Without even thinking I think I turned around and said, Holy shit, youre Dave Brockie. It was. We had some drinks and talked for a bit. He was super cool. At the end of the conversation, Dave gave me his email address and told me to email him if I ever wanted to go to a GWAR show. It was rad. I didnt know him well, but I have a lot of friends that did. To them, his friends and family, my deepest condolences. RIP Dave.
