I remember many years ago when I worked at the Georgia World Congress Center that Mark Zimmerman told me that you are always being watched. It was because he had seen what I had done in the role I was in that he gave me the chance to promote into his department. I have remembered this through the years as it related to my career; however, this morning I was reminded that this goes beyond the work place. I go for a three mile walk every morning before I go to work. As I was walking down the street this morning a shuttle bus pulled up beside me and the door opened. The driver called out to me very politely and asked me if I was walking to lose weight. I told him that I had started walking to feel better, but a side benefit was that I had lost a rather significant amount of weight. He told that this was his last week driving the shuttle and he wanted to let me know that he had been watching me for several months and had noticed that I had lost weight and wanted to tell me that he thought that was great. As he drove off I was reminded of what Mark had told me many years ago. I realized that I don’t know who is watching me or whose life I might influence -a total stranger, a friend, a family member. It reminded me that what I do and say matters and might make a difference not only in my life, but in the life of someone else. And on a sad note it reminded me that if this man is watching me day after day as I walk down the street that someone else who might not be so kind may also be watching and it is important for me to stay aware and stay safe on my walks. It reminded me that God is always watching me, guiding me and keeping me safe. No matter where you go today or what you do remember someone may be watching and God is always watching over you. Psalms 121: 5-8 - The LORD watches over you, the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm, he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. BAMBAM ♥
