I remember my Mother making a special jump-suit & hankerchiefs for my nephew Bobby Morris. She worked at the Clifton sewing factory. He was going to play Elvis Presley in a talent contest at Clifton, Tn. It was in the gymnasium. It was packed with talent. It was also packed with screaming girls! Bobby sing & played guitar growing up in church & he was already good at singing & playing. He did a great job playing Elvis. He sang Elvis songs & He wiped the sweat from his forehead & tossed the embroidered hankerchiefs out into the crowd of screaming girls! It was not made up, they really went wild! There was also a group of black singers that stood out with the name of Witherspoon. They called their band the Spoon-Connection. This was a fun event in my childhood.
