I remember my grandfather and hero, Bob Baker, reading and laughing out loud to the book Fatherhood by Bill Cosby amazon/Fatherhood-Bill-Cosby/dp/0425097722 I recall, MY HERO speaking of Bill Cosbys of wisdom and the inspiring way he looks at life, religion, racism, humor and most importantly...humility. Jump forward 27 years.... My pastor, Scott Sealy, sharing this video. I am not a biblical scholar, nor do I attempt to cite scripture in an effort to set myself, as a Christian, apart. But I do not know of anywhere in the Bible that says to be and make yourself happy for you because God wants that for us and makes him happy..... It does state this- 1 Peter 3:8-12 English Standard Version (ESV) Suffering for Righteousness Sake 8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; 11 let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
