I remember one of my immersion with the indigenous group (ati). One of the katutubo told me "Brod, daw naanad naman kami nga ginakadtuan pirme sang mga estudyante agud mag OBSERVE sa amon. Pero pagkatapus nila observe sa amon wala man sing may nagabag-o sa amon, pigado man gihapon." Many events in our society that we can observe and this observations were put into static situation of looking and learning, but things getting worse because there is no action for change. Just to observe without action for change is what brought the rich man in the gospel today to damnation. The rich man is full of his vanity and he is paralyze to his desires for riches that hinders him to help Lazarus. He was blinded with wealth that what only he looks at are things that can satisfy him. Observe, only the dog recognize Lazarus in his poverty. Those who just observe and does not move to help is worst than animals. Sin of omission is the kind of sin for the person who is afraid to be disturb to love. Our mid-year evaluation is just finish, one thing I observe is that community failed to reach its purpose when each one is afraid to disturb to love. When one is afraid to give fraternal correction, to remind the community and to be generous. Observations should not remain for learning but observation should lead to help. Happy Sunday!
