I remember sitting at home watching Blues Clues with Baley, when Rani called me from work asking me about what happened in New York. I turned the channel and began watching the horror that was going on in the Northeast. As I watched the 2nd plane hit the tower and then the towers collapsing, I knew the loss of life was tremendous. I also knew that I had to go to New York. I have since visited 3 times on 9/11 and have heard the extraordinary tales from firefighters and police officers who worked and responded the following days. I have witnessed a profound brotherhood that goes on throughout the world and I have come to the one conclusion.... Thank God Im a Firefighter. Those brave souls will always be remembered, and we will always fight for life. Anyone can question why we do what we do. Its very simple. We care. So, while youre sleeping nice and snug in your bed at night, rest well, for my brother and sister firefighters will be there if anything happens. Its what we do. This ramble was caused after waiting for relief after a garage fire... Hope you had a good night sleep. Ill get mine later...
