I remember sitting at the desk where I was temping for Maggie - TopicsExpress

I remember sitting at the desk where I was temping for Maggie Geohagen at Paramount on 60th and CPW, (which is now a Trump building,) and a script came across my desk. Popeye, by Jules Feiffer. I read it with great interest. It seemed quite terrible. Altman would direct, Robin would star…but I just couldnt imagine the darned thing working. (And im not a Harry Nillson fan, either.) I saw the picture about a year or so later, and I still thought the script was terrible; but I have to admit, I loved what Robin was muttering under his breath a lot of the time. My opinion, however, didnt change the fact that it sold a lot of tickets. But I liked Garp a lot more.
