I remember taking my boys with me to some of the displaced camps I worked at in Northern Uganda. My friend Hesters mom/activist identity clash experience in taking her baby with us to the Mae Sot trash dump (see post below) is an internal struggle I can relate to. Does the value to our work of showing vulnerability and universal connection as mothers outweigh the health risk were exposing our kids to? Is involving our kids in this kind of work good for them in other ways? Is it bad vis-a-vis the communities we work with? What do you think?
