I remember that moment vividly. I was in the 1st grade, in a Catholic school in Beaumont Texas. While it was a bright sun shinny day in Dallas there were dark foreboding clouds outside the classroom when the principal came on the intercom and announced the President had been shot. We all had to get on our knees, on the hard concrete floor, and start praying the rosary. I remember it was all so frightening and my knees were killing me while I prayed fervently for the Presidents life. When the principal came back on the intercom and announced the President had died I guess that was my first clue that there was something very wrong in this world. When I was a freshman in college I did a report on the assassination and came to the conclusion then that it had to be a conspiracy. This was before the 1978 House investigation which concluded that there was some kind of conspiracy. This was way before the key frames from the Zapruder film had been released. I had come to that conclusion mostly based, as far as I can remember, on the very unlikely story of the magic bullet. It just didnt add up then and I have been even more convinced over the years. I think the book this article refers to is what seems most likely to me. It seems there has been a spate of recent theories all pointing to Johnson but this doesnt make sense to me. He couldnt have gotten the cooperation of the CIA and the FBI just to achieve his own personal goal of becoming President. It is more likely that the CIA were the architects and they forced Johnson to be complicit in the coverup. Johnson was quoted once saying that it was the oil boys and by that he was probably referring to the Texas oilmen who were connected to the CIA and that points the finger at George Bush Sr. His father, Prescott Bush was one of the founders of the CIA. George Sr. was head of CIA by 1976. He claims he was not with the CIA in the early 60s. He also has claimed that he doesnt remember where he was on Nov 22, 1963. The code names for the ships that landed at Bay of Pigs were the Houston the Barbara and the Zapata. Zapata was the name of the Bush family oil company operating on an island not far from Cuba. The world has been a darker place since that day. There was a coup that overthrew the democratically elected President of the United States. We have had endless wars ever since. I find myself still haunted by this fifty years later.
