I remember that when Gezi Park protests started in Turkey, lots of foreign educators supported their colleagues joining the protests in Turkey, calling the Turkish Prime Minister a dictator in the social media. Now there is a big-scale massacre in Palestine and Israel airstrikes destroy homes and kill women, children, and innocent people, and only few teachers such as Teresa Gerdes from Spain and MiMi Cemile from the USA raise their voice against Israels massacres. This attitude of hypocricy which sees and denounces the use of tear gas, but turns a blind eye to the bombs and airstrikes of Israel breaks my heart and hurts my soul. Why do people raise their voice against a conservative Prime Minister just because he is a pious muslim, but keep quiet about a Jewish Prime Minister, who orders his troops to massacre an entire nation? My only consolation is that there exist some conscientious jewish people who are brave enough to defend the rights of Palestinians, and condemn Israel for its heinous war crimes.
