I remember this event with such strong emotions. I had been in New York only a few weeks after Phillipe Petit walked between the Twin Towers. Every time I went during the seventies I had as many as 20 students with me and we went to the roof of the South Tower, usually on a Sunday morning after a Staten Island Ferry Ride, Trinity Church visit, tour through the Federal Building, and leisurely stroll down Wall Street. The top floor of the South Tower was an amazing panorama of NYC. Im excited to see this film just for the opportunity to re-experience some of those thrills. Those who never had the opportunity to see rain fall up or planes fly below you or ride an elevator at 1600 feet per minute or eat a hot dog while viewing seven states through plate glass with your feet dangling out over the edge of the 110th story will have to settle for the movie. Nothing can replace the lives lost in those buildings or the buildings.. Maybe Speed Levitch, the quintessential New York tour guide was right, the only monument we should have replaced them with, should have had a heartbeat.
