I remember this song as a kid, it was one of my most favourite songs of that time. I first heard it in Spanish, believe it or not, from Japanese exchange students that my family used to host when I started high school.....I later heard it in English, but still prefer the Spanish version, both are beautiful however because I remember it was dedicated for the year that the UN declared the Year of the Child- and they dedicated all the proceeds for poor children worldwide (through UNICEF). I also remember this song because a few years later, I used to go to an orphanage in Tijuana run by nuns (Missionaries of Charity I believe- established by Mother Teresa, which is when I saw her in person). and I remember the children so fondly because so many were so starved for affection, they just jumped into your arms and hold you and you look into their eyes and it speaks volumes about so much....
