I remember when I first learned what having your IFBB pro card meant... almost 15 years ago now... at that time, I had no clue who the legit male bodybuilders were, but I definitely knew who Monica Brant was... I also knew that it was hard as hell to get such a prestigious title... that it meant you were an elite level competitor... to many, it was a lifetime dream... it was COVETED... in 2013, I finally reached the epitome of my amateur career... I won my mother effing pro card... I cannot begin to explain the amount of emotion that consumed me... something I had worked my ass off for, cried for, sacrificed many things for and Im not just talking about 10+ years of training and eating... I see many doing the same as I did, day in and day out... but I also see what seems like even more, picking up a dumbbell, a coach, a 6 Pack Cooler, Beats by Dre headphones, and 6 months later... an IFBB pro card. I can appreciate any competitor, as it takes a sure amount of effort just to complete one contest prep... but Ill be damned if I said I didnt miss what it use to be when I started my journey... a seasoned athlete, grinding year after year, living every day for their goal and not needing anyone to pat their back or wipe their ass for them... to watch as they accept their award for never giving up on that dream... you know these people, the ones that drop to their knees, consumed by tears of every emotion... as they finally get to hear their name called to the top... okay, so maybe you dont all know the type... but I know that MOST of you do...
