I remember when I got my first degree. It was 1992, Business Administration, Monroe College, New Rochelle, NY. I was dating a drug dealer...I recall my graduation like it was yesterday. Off white dress, off white gucci pumps with the gs on the back of the heel in gold ...I walked across that stage and I recall the conversation that followed with my then boyfriend like it was yesterday. He said Mims, do you know what this paper means? I said Yes, it means I dont have to deal with you any longer! and we broke up. At the time, many years ago, I was unevenly yoked. I was going to school...homie was going to valhalla jail. I was working on wall street, he was hugging the block selling cracks and weed...buying jewelry, suede suits...GETS ARRESTS..we couldnt get the same jewelers who sold us all that jewelry to give us back HALF OF WHAT HE SPENT ON IT TO HELP GET HIM OUT OF JAIL. i dont know where he is now. meanwhile im on degree #3 find a moral in that story....AND FIX YOUR SITUATION.
