I remember when I used to make "cold calls" and how much thought I - TopicsExpress

I remember when I used to make "cold calls" and how much thought I put into what I would say if someone would answer verses if the machine would pick up. It was/is a very uncomfortable feeling. When I speak on Shabbat, and that is to "friendlies," I spend time preparing what I will present so that everyone will be engaged in the conversation. For that matter, when I wanted something big from my parents, I rehearsed what the conversation would go like. So my question is, "Does one put that much forethought into speaking with Hashem? Does one really appreciate the opportunity that one has been given?"
