I remember when i was in primary school,They used to ask us what we wanted to be when we grow up. I said I wanted to be a Pilot,(I wonder why children admire pilots even when they have never boarded a plane).Well, thats not my topic today, One boy whose parents never bought mputa at home said Ohh... I want to be like Tonny. (Tony was emputa ensike seller in our neighborhood),On hearing this boy´s vision,I almost changed my mind too. Mukaseera ako nalowoozamu nti emputa eyo ddala bwemba nze njesikira kiba kitya?...Still that is not my topic today. As I grew up, life kept on changing. What was my future dream kept on extending away yet the future was coming nearer. I realized it in secondary school when Physics became hard that it was almost impossible for me to become a pilot. After school, there were no jobs. A person who initially had a pilot dream was now looking for money for lunch, Infact getting a job paying 5,000/- was a blessing. My dream changed. I wanted to live a simple and humble life like any average Ugandan. To have a simple family i can manage,to have a moderately good paying job and if all goes well build a simple house. With that revised goal, anything which came beyond that was a blessing. Many times we put our goals high without considering other factors surrounding us and the environment. The economic situation of Uganda today is even worse than the one of our age. People get de-moralized when they face such tuff times. If you are not strong enough,You may become a real failure.
