I remember when there was a 15k waiting list for season tickets in the 90s from the Mag The Truth About Season Ticket Sales Revealed By Newcastle United 18 hours ago by Jackie Smithfield During the renewal period, Newcastle United had been keen to tell everybody how great the season ticket sales were. The club indeed made a claim that only 6% of season ticket holders hadn’t renewed at a particular point in proceedings, though it did appear they were playing with words. season ticketThe end result though was that most of the media reported that the club had sold 94% of season tickets. The clear intention of this by Mike Ashley was to send a message to any fans who hadn’t as yet renewed, saying to them that they were the odd ones out and should join the overwhelming majority who’d already renewed. The fact that the club then extended the renewal period by two weeks didn’t exactly back up the claims that the renewals had been such a great success. Now Newcastle have put season tickets on general sale and put out this message; “Season tickets for the 2014/15 season have now been released on general sale and many areas of St.James’ Park currently have availability.” The club have a plan of St.James’ Park on the website where you can click on the various areas and see which season ticket seats are available. Having a look around that stadium plan, anybody who thinks that only 6% of season ticket holders haven’t renewed has obviously ran out of fingers and toes when they were counting. Interested to see the following on the NUFC website as well, this is on the page where they are trying to flog the season tickets and just sums up the amateur nature of our club;
