I removed the post about Father Pauls leaving because it may be perceived as slander. I am so disappointed by the situation created by a few people in Fort Smith that led to Father Pauls contract not being renewed and I am disappointed in my church leadership. It reminds me of a time when the Roman Catholic Church was so powerful, they made unilateral decisions that impacted negatively upon the lives of northerners. Bishop Murray Chatlain was a breath of fresh air and I remember how inspired I was by his leadership when in a workshop on the Reserve he told us about our right to have aboriginal ceremonies within the liturgy, that the aboriginal cultures of people of this land had a place in the church. Now I am disillusioned. I need to reflect on this further. Mahsi Creator, for the truth.
