I respect this woman speaking as a native Hawaiian, but she speaks - TopicsExpress

I respect this woman speaking as a native Hawaiian, but she speaks as a Christian from a Christians point of view. There many kanaka maoli opposed to this equality bill, yet there are many of us kanaka maoli in favor of this bill...history shows that alternative families, and mahu were very much a part of the culture and very much a part of our Native Hawaiian traditions. They were not outcast they were very much apart of every ohana and more so today...we are a huge part of the Hawaiian culture today, everyone in our culture has a gay aunty, uncle, cousin, father, mother, or are ourselves gay. They are still your ohana regardless of religious beliefs, shouldnt as your ohana, they be able to be happy and marry who they wish to, to love who they wish to love...we all should have that right here in our home, I deserve to have that here in my home...I am Hawaiian, I am gay, I am in support of passing this bill!
