I rose in the House today to challenge the BC Liberal government on their widely-panned plan to changes to BC successful recycling system. Starting May 19, the BC Government intends to force businesses to pay an onerous recycling tax to MMBC, a dummy corporation that lacks the most basic financial accountability mechanisms. I asked if the Minister would ensure MMBC is accountable to the Auditor General. Note that Minister Polak’s response was to smear the NDP, utterly misrepresent my views and completely ignore a legitimate and straight-forward question.
