I sat in a taxi a couple of weeks ago and whilst I caught up on messages on my phone a CD playing in the taxi made me zone in to a monotonous tone of voice, droning on about life and how we were created etc (from a scientific perspective) I asked the taxi driver what it was about etc. He informed me ..but his answers were lifeless and generic, there was no joy in his relaying of info etc... What you believe in is a powerful thing and evident in your character and expression. I shared about my life experiences and how my faith as been pivotal in my life. He commented on MY JOY and ZEST for life. My story wasnt complicated, it just recounted truth that I have been through, both the highs and the tests. He went on to say that he lost his faith years ago, that he married and his wife had had a son and had aborted the other son, as the village where he was from believed that boys were a curse. His 1st born son lives in another country is due to get married and they have never met as father and son. I asked the driver why havent you met? You still have time? It was so sad to listen to. The taxi driver had all these facts of how and why from the scientific perspective we exist, it was so sad to see just how miserable he was.... Again he said your joy is infectious.. To which I responded you can have the same too. Obviously the information you are pumping your mind with is not building you up in any way, or bringing about any joy!! I struggle to understand why people do this to themselves and punish themselves unnecessarily?. Information and the opinion of others can be a dangerous thing when you allow it to rob you of lifes journey. He felt so far gone...its been on my mind ever since. Each to their own I suppose. 💭💭💭 The joy of The Lord is my strength.
