I saw Exodus: Gods and Kings on Tuesday night and I really enjoyed - TopicsExpress

I saw Exodus: Gods and Kings on Tuesday night and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was great. As a Christian I wasnt offended or really bothered by anything in it. I know there are Christians that saw it, felt irked and didnt like it. I saw a powerful message through the story and was taken by that. Im a big fan of director Ridley Scott and I thought he did an amazing job crafting this epic. And it does feel epic. Just the look of it is eye-popping. The scale and scope is breathtaking. It felt like Golden Age of Hollywood movie with how regal and majestic it looked. I really liked the cinematography and the landscapes and locations they filmed in. All the beautiful and picturesque landscapes made me think of Prometheus, Ridleys sci-fi prequel to the Alien series. He has an eyes for visuals. Egypt looked great. Christian Bale did a fantastic job as Moses, the reluctant leader that God chooses to lead his people. He brought that passion and intensity to the role that Ive come to expect from him. Joel Edgerton did really great as Rameses, also. I liked his look and his dramatic range. I really liked the relationship between him and Moses. They had a compelling dynamic. John Turturro was great as Pharaoh Seti and Ben Kingsley was also great as Nun, the wise man who helps Moses to learn who he really is. And Breaking Bads Aaron Paul did very well as Joshua. He is a strong actor. I saw it in glorious 3D and it looked great but each scene will stand out to you in 3D. The visual effects and special effects were extremely awesome. I liked how the plagues were done. The action sequences and fight scenes were well done as well. I thought how God was depicted was done in a unique and very interesting way. I didnt think it was bad or a slap in Gods face but some people didnt like it. You watch it and decide. The powerful message I mentioned was trusting in God, no matter your situation or circumstances. He will be there for you and equip you to be strong. I hope the message speaks to you, too.
