I saw a post about Carrie Underwood coming under fire for singing about her faith in God. I whipped up a poem in response to it. Come Find Your Peace In all of creation, there comes certain men, challenging a God that always has been Their comments & boast of what they think true, like casting dark clouds in skies that are blue Confidently taunting, Where is this great God?! Your religion a farce & committing such fraud! To them I proclaim, You better take heed! The course that youre on, of sowing wraths seed... So let the clouds roll to darken the day, in darkness Hes light, to brighten ones way The clouds that are cast, carry something most needed, rain for a crop...answered prayer that is heeded. Your lifes but a vapor, a short spurt of mist, how dare you boast challenge, with a blind shaking fist To a God thats forever, eternal & true, Hes been around longer than me or than you Questioning may come from all different sources, from men that are on, all different courses One things for certain & always rings true, His love does abound to see seekers through So why stand aloof, questioning His existence? Hes closer than you know, with standby assistance Hes waiting on you, one with questions & doubt, just because youre not satisfied, you cant count Him out So my boast to you & any other skeptic, Hes been a sure constant, when things seem so hectic Youre welcome to come & join in the feast, many arms are outstretched, so Come Find Your Peace - Brian Gifford
