I saw a posting about Bill Ropps mom needing prayer as well as Charlotte and Kim. Our prayers are like incense before the Throne of Grace (Rev 5:8). Kims Oncologist told us last night no more chemo for Kim! He said that the dosage of chemo on the trial Kim is on is more aggressive then normal. We rejoice that there is no more chemo. She is tentatively scheduled for a procedure today that will attempt to determine the cause of the infection but only if the white blood cells come up. They are still very low. Fever is getting better however and she was feeling better yesterday afternoon. She is still not able to eat. Only drink liquids which she has a hard time doing. Perhaps by tonight we will have a break through. Thank you all for your continued prayers. Caroling is on for Wednesday night. A bus will be at the church at 5:30. Pizza and hot chocolate will be at the church on your return. Let us be a blessing to others and receive a blessing as well. Banquet is Saturday night. Pray about bringing a friend. Fresh from the Throne. December 16, 2014 Near is the great day of the Lord, near and coming very quickly.. Zephaniah 1:14 We can so easily become familiar with time. While we have been taught from the Scriptures that one day the Lord will return and snatch us away to be with Him we can live as though it could never happen to us. There are however certain prophecies which have been fulfilled which should alert us to the nearness of His return. When Israel was recognized as a nation on May 14, 1948 it fulfilled the prophecy from Isaiah 66:8 which states in part, ..Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? ... Isaiah 60:8 predicts that the Jews would one day return to their homeland in airplanes when it states, Who are these who fly like a cloud... Thousands of Jews returned to Israel by airplane after World War two. The alignment of nations as predicted in Ezekiel 38 and 39 once again remind us that we are living in the last moments of the last days. The fig tree has budded (Israel) and Jesus said that ..when you see all these things, recognize that he is near right at the door. (Matthew 24:33). In addition to the many signs we have the witness of the Holy Spirit who ..will disclose to you what is to come. (John 16:13b). What kind of people should we be knowing that our Lord is ..near right at the door... ? Four things come to mind. First we should be people of much prayer. Satan knows his time is short and our best preparation for his subtle deceptions is to be close to the heart of God. While Jesus was in the garden awaiting His hour of testing the one thing He told His disciples was to ..watch and pray... The greatest hour of testing the world has every seen is about to come upon us. We need to be people of prayer! Second we need to be people of the Book. We must live by ..every Word of God... (Matthew 4:4). We can not live by the Word if we do not know what it says. Be a student of the Word. The Third thing is fellowship. Hebrews 10:25 commands us not to forsake the .. assembling together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near. The fourth imperative is to be about the Fathers business. We are to preach, testify and witness to the unsaved the glorious great news of the Gospel. People without Christ will spend an eternity in hell, period. There is only one way to heaven and that is by accepting the free gift of salvation offered by Jesus Christ. May we live as those expecting a knock on the door at any moment. The truth is when He knocks you will not have time to answer it. If you know Christ you will be gone before you can open the door. Come soon Lord Jesus!
